I have since researched this company and their practices via the internet and have seen that they probably are somewhat shady at best in their practices and their methods. As of December 2007 this is now on my credit report. Although have not harrassed me much, they have however made calls to my home phone on at least three occasions since June of this year. They leave no message and of course I do not answer the phone as AACC does appear on my caller ID.
What they might have done is wrong and unethical at best and I certainly do not want to get into any shounting match with them which would I'm sure make matters worse and of course they would no doubt harrass me more.
Seeing my word count is far and above what is recommended that is perhaps a Reader's Digest version of what is going on.

| 2. Written by Randy Enfinger, on 04-11-2008 09:06 AAFES and NCO kept my stimulus check for debt that they are claiming I owe them, My records show the debt was paid off in 2001. I have not heard fron AAFES or NCO since 2000 and now they are telling me I owe them some money. I have written to both parties to request verification of debt and have only recieved a few on line statement from AAFES , not a payment history with a total amount due with a breakdown of what they say is interest or principle , How can I get them to provide a payment history and prove what they are saying ??? They have, at this point ,removed the duplicate entrys on my credit report .They do not have a least one payment that was made - they keep telling me the last payment they show was Sept 2000 and I have a cancelled check from Jan 2001 - how do solve this once and for all??? |
| 3. Written by Jody, on 01-09-2008 23:30 Sending you help: Zombie or Junk Debt We can protect you from Junk Debt buyers such as NCO, MCM and Asset Acceptance. Junk Debt Buyers buy old or "zombie" debt and sue people with minimal proof or sometimes outside the Statute of Limitations. Asset sues people with the expectation that the lawsuit will be ignored. Then a default is entered and the debt becomes new again. See our News Stories on "Zombie Debt." In Michigan the Statute of Limitation is six years. In Florida, the SOL is four years. So, if you are being called or sued by Asset for an old or zombie debt, contact us and we will review the case, defend you for free and sue the Junk Debt Buyer under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and "make them pay you." Fill out our free case evaluation form. We'll review your case and contact you, usually within 5 minutes to 1 hours time. s Name: Email: State: Select State Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas California Colorado Connecticut Delaware Florida Georgia Hawaii Idaho Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Montana Nebraska Nevada New Hampshire New Jersey New Mexico New York North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma Oregon Pennsylvania Rhode Island South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah Vermont Virginia Washington West Virginia Wisconsin Wyoming Washington D.C Phone: About Case: Radio Ad | TV Commercial | Links | Sitemap Attorney Brian Parker 30700 Telegraph Road Suite 1580 Bingham Farms, Michigan 48025 PHONE: (800) 737-2345 FAX: (866) 642-8875 |
